Product Description

Most compact windows tablets only have a single USB Micro-B port on them, meaning they normally cannot be charged or powered from an external battery pack while simultaneously being used with a USB device (such as an SLS camera). This special cable makes that possible. Now you can run your tablet off of an extra battery bank, and use it for the the entire duration during long investigations.

This cable will work with most standard USB power banks. It is recommended to use a power bank that is able to supply at least 5V 1.5A for the tablet to ensure it has enough power to run off the battery bank alone.

This cable does not adapt the original cable with the orange Kinect plug to USB. Unless your Kinect camera has been converted to have a standard USB cable, a separate Kinect adapter/splitter cable is required.
All Kinect cameras sold by Spirit Tech since August 2020 have been converted to USB.

This cable will not work with SLS camera battery packs that supply only 12V to the camera. If your kit has a 12V only battery pack, such as an 8×AA battery pack, Spirit Tech 12.6V 3 Cell pack, or the old “12/12.6V blue battery” packs, a separate USB power bank is required to charge the tablet.

Please note that not all tablets and devices support simultaneous charge and OTG functions. Please verify that it will work with your device before purchasing. Additionally, you may need to reboot the tablet for the cable to work, and again every time the cable’s mode is changed.

What type of connector is used for the connection to the Xbox 360 Kinect? I attached a photo of my Kinect cord/adapter. It just doesn’t look like it would work for a Kinect, so I want to double check first before paying for international shipping. Thanks!

      Hello,
The port the Kinect camera plugs into is a standard USB A socket. Kinect cameras with the original orange connector shown in your photo still require the separate splitter cable for power and convert it to USB. This cable is intended to replace the “On-The-Go” USB A to micro-USB cable, and allows a tablet with only a single micro USB port to be charging from a battery bank or charger while simultaneously using the Kinect camera.
